A Grief Coach Loves My Book!

“I read this book (Healing Reflections for a Grieving Mom’s Heart) in two hours. I usually have a hard time sitting still and reading from the first chapter on. It’s perfect. This book is relatable, kind, gentle and gives hope for those who have suffered a loss.

I am a Christian Grief coach and teach a lot of tools that are in this book.

The biggest take away that I appreciate the most after reading this, is that there is hope for recovering from grief. You don’t have to suffer from grief your whole life after losing someone, and this book shows that.

Thank you [Linda] for taking your time to give Hope an inspiration to others. Great job and thank you.”

“This book is a beautiful help no matter the loss you’ve experienced. While Linda’s book shares of the loss of her beloved son, you do not need to have lost a child to connect with this amazing read. For any level of loss or grief, this book brings a foundation to heal – it’s a friend to “walk” through the valley of grief, to hold your hand while you try to gain your footing. A must read!” – J. C.

“[Healing Reflections for a Grieving Mom’s Heart] came today, and I can’t put it down. It is so well written, beautiful and interesting… I’m learning such valuable lessons… Chapter 6 really spoke to me. I have a better insight of how to be a better friend [to those in grief] …” – Ann B.

A beautiful gift book idea!

“I haven’t lost a child, but I plan to give this as a gift to someone who has. This 6 x 9 book is so lovely to look at and to hold. The author and her husband lost their son in a tragic accident at the age of twenty-three. Twenty-five years later, Linda has published these heartwarming reflections taken from her journal entries over the years. [Healing Reflections for a Grieving Mom’s Heart] is divided into 2 parts: Grieving the Loss and Growing through the Loss. Each of the 21 reflections starts with a few pages on the grief topic, then a section called Take a Moment for Yourself to write your thoughts, and a third section called Receive Strength for Your Heart with Bible verses and a prayer. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. – Debbie S.

A Must Read for Everyone!

“This awesome book, Healing Reflections for a Grieving Mom’s Heart, written by a wonderful friend of mine, came today and I am having a hard time putting it down! It is so well-written, beautiful, and interesting! Although I have not lost a child, I am learning such valuable lessons to be a friend to others who have taken this challenging journey.

Chapter 6, which talks about friends disappearing, really spoke to me. I must confess that I have avoided a few friends that were in a tough life position (terminal illness) because I never knew what to say to them. (Shame on me!)

I have better insight of how to be a compassionate friend because of that chapter. Linda’s heartfelt advice is so valuable for those of us that have not experienced the tough and painful journey after of losing a child. Congrats, Linda!!” – Ann B.

Like talking with a Trusted Friend

“Even though I have not lost a child, [Healing Reflections for a Grieving Mom’s Heart] helps me better understand the enormous complexity of emotions and stages for those experiencing grief. Linda has written with such compassion and is able to bring to light so much of what she learned, and what was helpful or not, on her own grief journey. She has done this in such a way that it feels like you are sitting down with a trusted friend who cares deeply for you in your own loss. I pray that her expressions of faith, encouragement and personal experience will help countless others on the journey that no one wants to be on.” – Anonymous

I felt like I was talking to a fiend.

I do not like reading, but this book made me feel like I was talking to a friend. The book is written so beautifully. It is so personal and had me crying on page 1. I can’t tell you how much I needed this book. After losing my son to suicide on February 9, 2021, I had to give this a try. So glad I did. 🖤 – Jessica S.

I’m closer to understanding.

“I give thanks so often that I am not part of this “mother’s” group who have lost a child! I have lost a beautiful nephew, Adam, and a sweet baby Great Granddaughter, Ava Lauren. There is no possible way that I could or would say that I understand what these moms are going through. This book opened my eyes more as to what stages took over their lives.

I shared many days after Adam’s death with my sister, Linda. I had no idea about the suffering they went through for the days and years that followed. Linda’s book touched my heart so deeply that when I read the last page, I ordered one for my Granddaughter.

I pray that those of us who have not lost a child will take time to read this book. And share it with others who have become part of the grieving Mom’s group.” – Pam M.

This book allowed me to breathe again… Thank you.

“Written as though your dearest friend is holding your hand and walking by your side as you navigate your own grief. She “gets it” because she is living it. She shares her experience openly and with honesty.

I’ve read many books on grief, and this is one of a handful that does not give you any “psychobabble”. Linda presents questions that help you think and heal… not just some questions that their college professor told them. Having never walked in their shoes, the professor instructs others what they need to ask a grieving person. Linda personally knows the pain and her book is kind and thoughtful and though provoking. – Kim M.

If you have suffered a loss, this book is a must read!

I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. It definitely brought a greater understanding of one’s grief journey and the support we can give to one another. Linda did an amazing job outlining the many stages of grief along with sections you can write your own reflections on. I shed many tears and was comforted by feeling that I am not alone. Congratulations, Linda!

A must read for anyone grieving a loved one!

Although I cannot relate to losing a child, I know others that have and would find great comfort in the Healing Reflections guide that Linda so eloquently wrote. The compassion and insight from her experience of losing her son and ministering to other families are palpable on the pages, presented in a way that resonates with her readers. This beautiful book will benefit anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. It’s the perfect gift to give when you care deeply and are unsure how to help a loved one grieving a loss. Praying that many are blessed by this book. – C. West
